How we research

We start with a specific buying question, then use manufacturer specifications, technical documentation and appropriate independent sources. We distinguish verified specifications from our analysis and identify unresolved limits.

Research-based comparison is different from a benchmark or hands-on test. We say which kind of work was done. A charging rating, transfer-speed rating or certification is not evidence for an unrelated capability.

Sources and research dates accompany each guide. Product variants are kept separate. We avoid numeric ratings without a defensible measurement method.

Before drafting, we define the reader’s decision, the relevant alternatives and the conditions that could change the recommendation. We prefer manufacturer manuals, support documents and standards for factual specifications, then use suitable independent evidence when a claim requires context beyond the manufacturer.

Options are compared on shared criteria. We check model numbers, regional availability, included accessories, compatibility requirements and meaningful drawbacks. A product card must refer to the same variant discussed in the text. Missing evidence is resolved, narrowed or stated as a limitation.

Before publication, the complete rendered page is checked for source support, decision quality, technical depth, useful comparisons, working links, mobile presentation and search metadata. Substantive changes receive a new research date. We do not use a word count or a number of sources as a substitute for answering the purchase question.
