The Logitech M650 L is the large size, not automatically the left-handed version. If you want its side buttons under your left thumb, choose the M650 L Left. The extra word matters more than the color or a photograph of the top of the mouse.
That still leaves a second decision: size and grip. M650 L Left has the same dimensions as the large right-handed model. Logitech's Lift Left offers a different, vertical shape aimed at small-to-medium hands. Choose between them by the body you want to hold and the buttons you need to reach.

The Left model does not give you the smaller M650 body with different buttons. If a large mouse already feels too long or wide in your hand, changing to this left-handed variant does not reduce those dimensions.
M650 L Left: keep a conventional grip, move the thumb controls
The Logitech Signature M650 L Left is the relevant choice when you want a conventional mouse shape and back/forward buttons reachable with your left thumb. Logitech explicitly places those buttons on the right side of this version.
Those controls are useful beyond moving between browser pages. Logitech documents side-button customization through Options+, and horizontal scrolling by holding a side button while turning the wheel. If these are actions you use regularly, physical button placement deserves attention before you compare cosmetic variants.
The connection options are Bluetooth Low Energy and the included Logi Bolt receiver. The mouse uses one AA battery. Check your intended connection and any software requirements for customized actions, particularly on a computer managed by an employer.
Left-handed hardware does not necessarily swap the main click
On the M650 L Left, Logitech says the main click remains on the left button by default. You can swap it using Logitech software if you prefer the other arrangement.
This separates two things that product listings often blur: where a button sits and what pressing it does. You may use a mouse with your left hand while preferring the familiar main-click assignment. Or you may want the primary action under a different finger. Decide that preference separately from choosing the correct physical variant.
Changing a click assignment cannot move side buttons from one side of the shell to the other. Conversely, buying the Left version does not mean every action arrives configured the way you expect. Check the assignment after connecting it rather than treating an unexpected click as a faulty mouse.
Lift Left: a different shape for smaller hands
Consider the Logitech Lift Left if you want a vertical grip rather than the M650's conventional shape. Logitech positions Lift for small-to-medium hands and specifies a 57-degree design.
That makes it a useful alternative to investigate when the large M650 body is the wrong starting point. It is not simply a smaller copy: your hand approaches the mouse differently. Compare how you can reach the wheel and buttons while holding that shape, rather than choosing it solely from a hand-size label.
Select Lift Left explicitly on the product page. The general Lift listing also covers the right-handed model; the initial color or selected variant does not by itself confirm you are looking at the left-handed version. Downsides to weigh
- M650 L Left: it is not a compact left-handed M650; the body keeps the large 118.7 × 66.2 × 42 mm dimensions. The main-click preference is a separate software setting, and customization may be limited on a managed computer.
- Lift Left: the vertical posture changes how the hand, wheel and buttons are reached and may need adaptation. A small-to-medium label is manufacturer guidance, not a promise of comfort, and its controls behave differently from the M650 family.
Which change do you actually need?
- A large conventional mouse with left-thumb controls: choose M650 L Left in Graphite. Verify the full variant name and the Large Size | Left Handed selection, then set the main-click assignment to your preference.
- A vertical grip for a small-to-medium hand: choose Lift Left in Graphite. Verify the Left Handed selection and Color: Graphite, and assess fit before committing.
- Only a different primary click: keep your existing mouse if its body and physical controls already work for you; a supported button-setting change may solve the problem. Software cannot move physical side buttons.
- Regular switching between left and right hands: neither a left-thumb button layout nor a handed vertical shell should be assumed to suit both equally. Look for a shape and controls that match that routine.
Before ordering, verify three separate details: the size, the handed variant and the button layout. “Large,” “left-handed” and “primary click on the right” describe different choices.
